We work closely with STEM organisations in designing and delivering groundbreaking programmes that support and promote personal and leadership development for underrepresented professionals and diverse leaders. Our Team

Dorinda Nartey
Director
Dorinda, the visionary force at Mastering Awareness, personally curates and delivers the majority of our ground-breaking leadership courses.
With nearly two decades of expertise in Quality Assurance, she remains a consultant, providing support to a select group of clients within the clinical research industry.
Driven by a deep-seated passion to reshape the narrative of success in STEM for Underrepresented Professionals and Leaders of Diverse Teams, she founded Mastering Awareness. She partners with leaders keen to promote and foster diverse talents and create equitable promotional pathways for all. The emphasis is on promoting an inclusive culture – a collaborative environment where all talent is recognised and celebrated.
In her one-on-one coaching and mentoring sessions tailored to individual needs, Dorinda collaborates with both seasoned and aspiring leaders who are enthusiastic about harnessing their character strengths. She assists them in aligning their goals with a profound sense of purpose and drive.
In her approach, Dorinda exudes a dynamic and vibrant energy that goes beyond her professional credentials. Enthusiastic, cheerful, and genuinely dedicated to unravelling the complexities of human psychology, she is committed to empowering others find purpose and drive in navigating change amid challenging circumstances. Employing a holistic perspective, she brings a refreshing approach to both personal and professional growth in her work.
She is an accredited Senior Practitioner Coach and Mentor with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and completed a programme on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: DEI Strategies for Business Impact from Cambridge Judge Business School.

Dr. Agatha Nortley-Meshe
Events Lead
Agatha is the creative force behind our Women of Colour in Leadership events and community. These events aren’t just gatherings; they’re a vibrant sanctuary where female leaders of Colour come together to share, uplift, and champion one another. Together, we create a psychologically safe space for reflection, a hub for connecting with kindred spirits, and a stage for supporting and challenging each other to unleash industry skills like never before. Agatha is also a mentor and co-facilitator on some of our programmes, providing transitional support and sharing her insights on some of our workshops and webinars.

Caroline Kitcatt, EdD.
Facilitator, Executive Coach & Supervisor
Caroline evaluates and facilitates some of the modules in our leadership programmes. As an accredited coach, counsellor and supervision, she brings a wealth of experience and depth in her workshops, one-to-one and group coaching sessions. She particularly aims to support Diverse Leaders, Women in Leadership and Neurodiverse talents.
Caroline currently works in private practice as a coach, supervisor and therapist having recently left her role of 24 years as a CEO delivering counselling in commercial, community and educational settings and designing and delivering professional counselling training, workshops and personal development programmes.
With a long career in leadership and management, she understands the pressures of contemporary working life. Her qualifications include coaching, management, training, research and counselling. She is an EMCC Accredited Coach at Senior Practitioner level and a Senior Accredited Counsellor with NCPS.

Francis Akwensivie
Volunteering Mentor
As a mentor, Francis Akwensivie brings to the table not only his impressive 18-year career in Project Engineering and Management but also a wealth of experience across diverse industries, including oil & gas, chemical manufacturing, and renewable energy. His mentoring style reflects a genuine commitment to fostering growth and development in others.
Francis is known for his patient and encouraging approach, providing valuable insights and guidance to help mentees navigate their professional journeys. Recognised for maintaining composure under pressure, he excels in helping others overcome potentially challenging situations and setbacks.
Mentees benefit not only from his technical expertise but also from his leadership acumen, learning how to navigate complex projects and teams successfully. Francis’s mentoring relationship goes beyond imparting knowledge; it’s about nurturing the next generation of professionals and empowering them to thrive in their respective fields.
Throughout his career, Francis has played a pivotal role in global teams dedicated to developing Floating, Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) facilities. His proficiency lies in delivering engineering solutions for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of such facilities, fostering seamless collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders. His track record includes the successful delivery of multiple major innovative projects in upper tier COMAH sites.
Francis’s leadership prowess is evident in his role as the driving force behind a team tasked with developing a Safety Report for a Gas Processing Facility and overseeing the review and update of the Safety Case for an FPSO. This involved meticulous alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Vince Pizzoni FIChE CEng
Facilitator, Networking for Impact
Vince is a globally recognised mentor and leader in Chemical and Environmental Engineering, with a distinguished career spanning over 40 years in executive and board-level roles across blue-chip companies such as ExxonMobil, Suez, V. Ships, Nalco, and P&G. He has dedicated his career to inspiring and mentoring future generations from schools to boardroom – focusing on STEM, Engineering, Tech, and Energy.
Vince’s extensive network and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion position him as a key facilitator of leadership success. He serves as a Trustee and Non-Executive Board member for organisations including Male Allies UK, the Women in Engineering Society, Female Leaders in STEM, POWERful Women, and MyBigCareer, which provides career guidance to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. He also mentors top businesswomen from Ukraine through the Progressiya 2024 initiative and supports women in tech through Cajigo.
Recognised for his global impact, Vince has received several prestigious awards, including the Davidson Medal 2024 from the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) for leadership in mentoring, the TechWomen100 Award 2024 for Gender Balance, and the Men as Allies Award 2024 from the Women’s Engineering Society.
