Thriving in Leadership
A cross-organisational leadership cohort for Women of Colour
This programme supports organisations seeking to retain, develop, and advance Women of Colour in leadership roles, particularly in complex and high-pressure environments.
The programme has been commissioned by NHS Trusts, STEM organisations, and local authorities, and brings together leaders from across sectors to build leadership capability, confidence, and visibility.
Unlocking Leadership Potential for Women of Colour
Navigating challenge, identity, impact and influence
Women of Colour in leadership roles often navigate heightened scrutiny, isolation, and unspoken cultural expectations; alongside the responsibility of proving capability in environments not always designed with them in mind. These intersecting dynamics of race and gender can shape how confidence, communication, and leadership presence are perceived, creating barriers to progression and visibility.
Despite overwhelming evidence that investing in Women of Colour enhances diverse perspectives, drives innovation, and expands market reach, representation at senior levels remains disproportionately low. Black professionals hold just 1.5% of top management roles in the UK private sector, and around 1% in parts of the public sector – figures that have barely shifted over the past decade (Race at Work – Black Voices Report).
Delivered as a cross-organisational cohort, this programme supports talented Women of Colour to strengthen self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and leadership presence, while developing practical strategies to navigate personal, organisational, and systemic challenges.
Participants often describe the programme as a turning point, helping them move beyond tokenism, reclaim confidence, and lead with greater influence, purpose, and impact.
